Despite the lockdown affecting some of our usual events and activities, the Stratford Arts Project is still very busy behind the scenes, helping those in need and building some exciting plans for the future. So we're launching this News Blog to help keep you up-to-date with what we're getting up to, and what to look out for in the near future! If you'd like to leave a comment on these posts, use the Log In button at the bottom to create a free account. This will also allow you to receive email notifications when we post new blogs, if you wish! You can also share these posts on social media by simply clicking the icons underneath.
Looking back, our various fundraising events that DID manage to go ahead in 2020 were very successful. We continued to raise the profile of the organisation and the important work it does, and also brought in much-needed funds from the event proceeds and many generous donations, most notably from ex Stratford Mayor and long-time supporter Cllr Kate Rolfe who donated £3000. Thank you Kate! :) As the weather turns colder and life on the streets gets harder, we're so thankful to have the means to support our service users with the food, clothing and shelter they need to get by.
On the musical side of things, the songwriting project has been super productive, with new songs finished and recorded, and even music videos to go with them! Plans to grow these fantastic new tracks into a full album are in motion, and you can get sneak-peeks at their new releases on the SAP FaceBook Page. A big cheer for our muso heros Jack, Wes and Nigel for all they've done to teach and encourage our players, and we look forward to seeing them on stage again as soon as restrictions allow.
We hope you're all staying safe and keeping well, and make sure to keep your eyes peeled for some very exciting new Street Arts projects and collaborations coming SOON!
